Sending & Support
For Churches
We are excited about the possibility of partnering with your church to see the gospel go forth in disciples being made and matured in Honduras for the glory of God. On this page, you will find both ways we would love to serve you and recommendations from pastors and Christian leaders.
Ways We Can Serve You
Preaching and Singing
We would love to come to your church to share about our call to missions in Honduras. Yet, as mentioned, this is a gospel partnership, and we want to serve you and your church if we get that opportunity. Theron is able to preach, and Esther can sing a special if you would like.
Sunday School/Seminar: Biblical Counseling Training

Because we both are experienced biblical counselors, we also offer a Sunday School training lesson, “A Word Fitly Spoken: How to Provide Wise Counsel to One Another”. In this lesson, Christians will be equipped to understand that it is not about if we counsel but what type of counsel we are giving. “A Word Fitly Spoken” trains believers to counsel biblically, not only in content (the what) but in discerning the correct timing (the when), and the tone and the focus of the conversation (the how). If you would like any of those three ways we can serve in addition to sharing about Honduras, let us know.
Recommendations
It is my joy and privilege to recommend Theron and Esther St. John as they prepare to serve the Lord as missionaries in Honduras. My name is Ken Fields, and I serve as the Lead Pastor of Bethel Baptist Church in Schaumburg, Illinois. As their sending church, we are delighted to commend them to you and encourage you to prayerfully consider partnering with them in this important work.
I have had the privilege of knowing Theron and Esther since July of 2022, and during that time, I have come to deeply appreciate their love for the Lord, their commitment to His Word, and their genuine heart for people. They have a burden to see people come to saving faith in Christ, grow in their knowledge of His Word, and become faithful disciples who make disciples.
We have also had the privilege of seeing their gifts and passion for ministry demonstrated right here at Bethel. Theron has faithfully served through preaching, teaching Sunday School, ministering to our youth group, and participating in our counseling ministry. Esther has likewise invested herself in the lives of others through teaching women and serving in our counseling ministry. Together, they have demonstrated a genuine desire not merely to communicate biblical truth, but to help people understand it, embrace it, and apply it to their lives. Their commitment to making disciples is not simply something they hope to do in Honduras. It is something they have already been doing here at Bethel.
One of the great joys of pastoral ministry is watching God raise up people from within the local church and prepare them for the work of the ministry. We have witnessed that work in Theron’s life. Earlier this year, our church convened an Ordination Council to examine his doctrine, character, and calling. The council unanimously recommended that Bethel proceed with his ordination to the gospel ministry. It was a wonderful affirmation of our confidence in him and the ministry to which God has called him.
As their sending church, we love the St. Johns, we believe in them, and we are committed to standing behind them. Would you prayerfully consider joining us in that commitment? Your prayers, encouragement, and financial support would be a tremendous blessing as they seek to make Christ known in Honduras.
As 3 John 8 reminds us, by supporting those who go out for the sake of Christ’s name, we become “fellow workers for the truth.” We would count it a privilege to have your church join ours in this gospel partnership.
Thank you for prayerfully considering this opportunity. Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can answer any questions.

The highest calling of the Christian is that of servant and ambassador for King Jesus. We share the king’s message that you, too, can have peace with God. My name is James Thurman and I have the honor of being Senior Pastor at Blue Ridge Christian Union Church in Shelbyville, Indiana. I would like to invite you to partner with the St. John family on the mission field for the Gospel.
I have known Theron St John for over 9 years and we served together in the pastorate at Blue Ridge. Theron and Esther return regularly to Blue Ridge and are considered part of the family. Theron is one of the men which I can trust to stand in the pulpit and preach the true Word of Christ. Theron and Esther have a heart for the Gospel, each using their talents and time in the ministry. Theron is a well-rounded teacher, counselor and preacher of the Word. Esther’s gifts in biblical counseling, speaking and music are a great blessing. It has been a joy to see them grow closer to Christ and in doing so, closer together. While I could go on about the St. John family and their testimony for Christ, it is best to see how they exemplify the greatest title one can hold in this world. Theron and Esther are servants of the Lord Jesus Christ who are willing to answer His call to missions. There is no higher call for the Christian than that of servant of the Most High God.
